Analysis of Wikipedia’s Network Structure Using Web Scraping
Wikipedia is a constantly evolving archive of knowledge and information, and its network structure captures the complex relationships between articles, editors, and other endpoints. Our objective is to analyze the network data of Wikipedia to gain insights into the structure of the online encyclopedia. We will collect network data from Wikipedia using web scraping and data-cleaning techniques. We will then analyze the network structure of Wikipedia using graph theory and network science tools, such as degree distributions, clustering coefficients, and centrality measures. By analyzing this network data, we can understand how information flows and how communities form and evolve on Wikipedia.
